UK Power Networks – Eastern Power Networks
October 2016 – Present
WM Walsh Surfacing has been contracted to undertake a full turnkey reinstatement service directly for UK Power Networks on the Eastern Power Network since securing a framework position in the tender event in 2016.
As a direct result of being awarded approximately a third of the Eastern Power Networks Geography in the tender event in 2016, WM Walsh and UK Power Networks established a long-standing Contractual relationship upon which WM Walsh have consistently delivered a full turnkey backfill, muck away & reinstatement service to exceptional standards despite often challenging circumstances.
WM Walsh was then awarded a contract on the Eastern Power Networks framework through an open competitive tender event that commenced on the 1st October 2022 for a period of 8 Years from the commencement date.
WM Walsh will continue to work collaboratively with UK Power Networks ensuring that we support their business in achieving its vision of being consistently recognised as the best performing operator, focused on performance and excellence in delivery.
WM Walsh Surfacing have mobilised circa 60+ teams of varying disciplines and structure into the Eastern Power Network and undertake approximately 11,500 unique jobs per annum of varying size and complexity.
WM Walsh currently provides the below services and activities for UK Power Networks, resourced and deployed using our in-house workforce and owned assets:
· Backfill, Waste Disposal & Reinstatement on: Faults, Small Services & Connections (East of England)
· Deployed resources from our depot facilities in: Wembley, Blunham, Guyhirn, Colchester, Bexwell and Harold Wood.
· Backfill & Disposal / Muck Away
· Heavy Lift Support
· 24 hour / 365 days a year emergency call out services
· Traditional and specialist surface reinstatement in all surface types
· Supply and installation of specialist surfaces (Yorkstone, mastic, Chinese granite, tiles, imprinted concrete)
· Application of surface treatment (Anti-skid, slurry seal, coloured tarmac finishes)
· Undertaking all necessary ancillary activities (Road markings, box resets, kerbs, edgings, wall repairs, specialist concrete installation, foam concrete, reinforced concrete and structural low-level installation)
· Repair of drains and ducting
· Clearance of signing, lighting and guarding
· Specialist jet washing service
· Rectification of 3rd party defective reinstatement
· In house waste recycling and aggregate supply

Cadent Gas Limited – East of England
April 2021 – Present
WM Walsh operates a full turnkey backfill and reinstatement service directly for Cadent Gas Limited in the East of England.
WM Walsh were awarded a large proportion of the East of England geography during the competitive tender event in late 2020 which commenced in April 2021 where a full turnkey service is provided including backfill, muck away, reinstatement and site clearance.
The collaborative work between WM Walsh and Cadent Gas ensures that Cadent can effectively maintain their assets causing the least amount of disruption possible to customers, consumers and communities.
WM Walsh has provided this service and will continue to do so for the remainder of the Contract in this current regulatory period (RIIO-2) which runs to 2028.
